Theory About The Mantle Of Invisibility by Arthur Burk

2-19-2014 Today, Arthur Burk is talking about a Command Presence (something that I think I have – the ability to walk into a room and all heads turn toward me to see who is sucking all the oxygen out of the room.  I just have such a big presence that I can command other people’s attention whether they want to give it or not.  It’s in my voice, my mannerisms, and my physical stature.  However, if I try, I can actually make myself seem smaller and less obtrusive to others to the point where I can become unnoticed or ignored for the most part.) and the Mantle of Invisibility – the ability to completely collapse one’s spirit on purpose to become unnoticeable to others.  It sounds like the Jedi Mind Trick.  Many have this naturally (especially those with no self-esteem).  But, it seems you can cultivate this Mantle of Invisibility by practicing going into stealth mode as they say in the military.  You can do things on purpose to help blend yourself into the background.  I wonder again if my wishes over the years to simply be left alone have done their job and come about for me.  Is that why I have no friends and can’t ever maintain a friendship when I get one?  What is it about me that absolutely repels everyone away from me?  Then I sit here, wait for, and wonder why no friends ever seem to come my way.  I’m waiting on God as I’ve heard you are supposed to do in everything… but maybe you’re not supposed to wait on God for everything nor in every situation.  Maybe I’m sitting here, enduring the product of my own making, and God has nothing to do with it.  The Good News is, He can help me with it.  God has not abandoned me.  He is sitting here right along side me… waiting for me… to…???  So, I’m bringing it again to God in prayer, which is another thing I have heard you are supposed to do with everything.  Maybe some things you are to pray about and other things you are to pray about as well as do something about.  “God, I ask that you make me highly visible or highly invisible wherever you want me to be.  Take away all my self-imposed limitations and fears.  Thanks!”
