Smooth Sailing In The Dark?

Christians seem to know the truth.  We do not minister to others by berating what they believe.  We are to live in such a way that others will see our example, want to go where they see we are headed, and make a course correction in their own lives to follow us to God.  How far will their vessel get if we blow them out of the water?

What is the goal?  To do the wrong thing by making sure they know they are living wrong?  Or, is it to lead people to Christ?  I won't follow someone who always puts me down.  I will follow an encourager.  Someone with authority who puts a huge effort into meeting my needs and who lives what they believe for me to see.  Lasting heart change only happens when we decide to do it for ourselves, not when someone imposes their beliefs on our lives.  Christians must not bend the will of another.  People must decide for themselves.  Our job is to meet their needs, encourage, and support them - build them up - shining the light of God in our lives by living rightly, so they can see the course before them clearly.  Anyone who has light enough to see where their course has taken them, and where the course before them leads, will choose to follow the right heading on their own.  Are you holding The Light high enough and shining it bright enough for others to see their paths clearly?  Or, are you tripping them up and casting them down into shadow?  Are you darkening their bow lanterns and putting out the lighthouse, so they run straight into the rocks ahead?  Are you blowing a horn so much that they steer away from you, and into danger?
