Resolute To Just Be Me

“Happy 2015 everybody! I've been thinkin' today about sending a little New Years greeting and decided to sing a little song for you...Now this is a "one take, very unrehearsed, off the cuff, (insert lots of other disclaimers here) version of the song, but rather than wait 'til I had time to "re-learn", rehearse and do a "real performance" of it (which basically means it wouldn't happen 'til next year ...maybe : ) I decided to go ahead & share this with ya...so I hope you're feelin' kind & forgiving...and mostly I hope you find yourself encouraged by it.  So I've been "pondering" today how it is that God has caused things to be "ordered" this side of Heaven in such a way that we constantly have "new beginnings"...every 24 hours gives us the beginning of a new day, which comes with the incredible promise of His "new mercies" (Lam 3:22,23)...then every 30 days or so we have the beginning of a new month; every few months we begin a new season; which ultimately brings us around to a new year every 12 months. While I'm sure some of these "calendar facts" could be explained as "man's inventions" I can't help but believe that God wants to use these realities to constantly remind us that He really is in the process of "making all things new", just as He promised. (Rev 21:5)  In other words, "this grand design of how our planet dances with the sun...I'm thinking this could be God's way of whispering, "a story's being told and the best is yet to come"...so Happy New Year! OMG Thank you God of Heaven for Steven Curtis Chapman!  SCC sings his own “Happy New Year” song on guitar live – this is so amazing to me!  I used to envy SCC because I wasn't him.  Maybe with this new year I can resolve to just be so grateful to God for His gifts through SCC and work on just being me so that God can also maybe show a little of His Goodness through me if He desires.
