During the Christmas season, it occurred to me that our hearts and lives are like a manger that God is coming into to live and rest in. But that wouldn’t be the whole story. That wouldn’t be the whole reason why God came.
We like Marvel’s "The Avengers" in our house. They say that Captain America is the First Avenger, but in NAHUM, God is the First Avenger. “The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies.” ~Nahum 1:2 How would our impression of God change if we understood Jesus coming into the world as a savior fighting to free those that would be slaves, captives, or being oppressed? Jesus - our possibly first super hero?
