While waiting for brunch to be ready to continue our Sabbath Day observance, and listening to some music, Steven Curtis Chapman’s song, “The Walk,” came on. “You can run with the big dogs, you can cry with the eagles, you can jump through all the hoops and climb your ladder to the top, but when it all comes down, it all comes down to this: Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God. It all comes down to the walk.” When I think why I haven’t been seemingly very active in my music or public ministry, or when others ask why I’m not doing music on a regular basis, I’m going to repeat these words.
