I no longer like the idea of having a “calling.”  It seems much too limited to me.  I don’t want to just be a writer, or musician, or husband, or dad… I don’t want to just be one thing and not be able to love someone in another way as well.  I would rather be open to God for him to use me in any way, at any time, for whatever purpose he desires.  Just keep it fluid.  If God wants me to be a dad, then I do that.  If he wants me to be a husband, I’ll do that too.  If God wants me to be a writer or musician, but to do that later, then so be it.  I want to be God’s go-to person for whatever he wants done.
